2008 International Workshop on End-User Virtualization (EUV’08)

in conjunction with the The 2008 IEEE/IFIP International Conference On Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC 2008)

(Submission deadline has been extended to June 30, 2008 )

December 17-20,2008 Shanghai, China

Introduction

End-User Virtualization technology is important for end-users, which provides a convenient and easy environment. It is a new attractive topic in the computer related research areas in recent years. There are still many unsolved problems that hold up its development, including how to provide record, replay and migration characteristics for Virtual Desktop Environment (VDE), how to design the collaborations of multiple VDEs, and what the novel applications are for VDE. All of these set a great barrier for further research. Moreover, in the pervasive and ubiquitous environment, for embedded and ubiquitous computing technologies, how to play important roles for the virtual desktop environment is not clear.

The goal of EUV’08 is to be an important research forum that can bring together leading practitioners and researchers to discuss End-User Virtualization, which includes topics of key technologies for desktop virtualization, novel applications for desktop users, virtualization technologies for grid/p2p computing. EUV’08 expects researchers from network, virtualization, distributed computing and other related areas. To reflect this diversity of backgrounds, 2008 EUV’08 will be held in conjunction with the 2008 IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC 2008).

Papers

We solicit high-quality papers to discuss original research results in various areas of end-user virtualization.

The submitted paper must be camera-ready and formatted according to the rules of IEEE CS. Final author manuscripts will be 8.5" x 11" (two columns IEEE format), not exceeding 6 pages with 10-12 point font. Helpful information for paper formatting can be found on the IEEE Authors Tools or here.

Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper at the workshop. For no-show authors, their papers will be removed from the digital library after the conference and their affiliations will be notified.

Please submit your paper from Submission web site (will be finalized soon). While submitting please don't forget to choose the workshop's name.

All papers will be peer reviewed. Accepted papers will be published by IEEE in the conference proceedings (indexed by EI). The proceedings will be available at the conference.
