CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

In past few years we have been witnessing a growing interest in trusted infrastructure technologies. The area of study has been gaining importance recently due to the technologies' association to a useful notion of software behavior conformity which is considered to have a potential for securing multi-tenancy and service-oriented computing such as Cloud Computing. Asia and Pacific proves an active region for research and development activities in trusted infrastructure technologies. In December 2005, 7th International Conference on Computer and Communications Security (ICICS 2005, www.icics2005.org), held in Beijing, China, included an Industry Track to host Trusted Computing Group (TCG) for a TCG Business Community Day Seminar. In November 2006, 2nd Workshop on Advances in Trusted Computing (WATC'06, www.trl.ibm.com/projects/watc) was held in Tokyo, Japan. In August 2007, Asia-Pacific Trusted Infrastructure Technologies Summer School (APTISS, www.aptiss.org) was launched in Zhuhai, China, and its sequel continued in August 2008 in Shah Alam, Malaysia. In addition, the region's industry development effort has also been very active: versions of Trusted Platform Modules have been independently designed and developed by several companies in China. The Advisory Board and Industry Sponsors wish to continue fostering and supporting trusted infrastructure research and development activities in the Asia-Pacific region and consider that it is highly desirable to hold this conference in China.  APTC 2008 will be co-organized with China Trusted Computing Union (CTCU) and China Open Source Software Promotion Union (COPU)
