Abstract

Blockchain is envisioned as a disruptive technology for establishing trust in a decentralized way, which has attracted extensive attentions from both academy and industry. Being considered with great potential to facilitate industries, blockchain has been tentatively applied to lots of fields, such as FinTech, supply chain, logistics, food safety, healthcare, manufacturing etc. However, the widespread adoption of blockchain is facing a series of technical and implementation challenges, which are worthy of an in-depth study.

The 3rd International Workshop on Blockchain Technology and Systems (BCTS 2020) aims at providing a platform for researchers and developers to exchange and discuss the possible solutions to the challenges, especially from the perspective of systems. It further intends to explore new thoughts to reform the existing blockchain architecture, which may bring more inspirations to promote the blockchain technology revolutionarily. This workshop will be organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and be held in conjunction with 20th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud and Grid Computing (CCGrid’20), which serves as a major international forum for presenting and sharing recent research accomplishments and technological developments in the field of Cluster, Cloud and Internet computing.

Brief introduction of why and to whom the workshop is of interest

After the success of BCTS2017 and BCTS2018 workshops, the BCTS2020 workshop aims to bring together researchers and industry practitioners to foster the innovative solutions to the key issues and challenges, the latest advances and future of blockchain techniques and systems. Researches may cover and focus on either the fundamental methodological studies or the use case and application demonstrations. The workshop also welcomes submissions of work-in-progress papers on ideas that explore the potential of blockchain technologies in emerging landscapes and industrial applications. The papers must provide preliminary results that demonstrate the originality and possible impact of the proposed solutions.

BCTS 2020 plans to attract over 30 attendees and 30 submissions, and the expected number of accepted papers is 6 to ensure the quality. The plan to promote and diversify our publicity outreach will be delivered via Website, Email, etc. In addition, the schedule for CFP dissemination will be arranged in batches as follows,
