Grid and Pervasive Computing (GPC) is an annual international conference on the emerging areas of merging grid computing and pervasive computing. GPC 2008 seeks proposals for workshops on novel and emerging topics on the areas. The GPC workshops provide informal and vibrant opportunities for researchers and industry practitioners to share their research positions, original research results and practical development experiences on specific new challenges and emerging issues.
The organizers and chairs of the workshop shall have full control on the call for papers, forming of program committees, review and selection of papers as well as planning the workshop program. The chairs must state in the workshop CFP as "Submitting a paper to the workshop means that if the paper is accepted, at least one author should attend the workshop to present the paper. For no-show authors, their papers will be removed from the digital library after the conference and their affiliations will receive a notification." The registration fees for workshops will be determined by the conference (not the workshop itself). The fees will be paid to the conference, and the conference will provide workshop facilities including the working notes printing, the meeting room, coffee break, lunch, proceedings and etc. Any further expense of the workshop such as the financial aid to the invited speakers MUST be provided by the workshop itself upon getting some sponsors for their own workshops. The money from workshop sponsors will be received by the workshop itself.
The proceedings of the GPC'2008 workshops will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press (Indexed by EI).
Prospective workshop organizers should send a proposal containing the following information to GPC 2008 Workshop Chair.
Prior discussion of candidate workshop organizers and the workshop chair is encouraged.

We look forward to your stimulating proposals and contributions to GPC 2008 workshops.
3rd International Workshop on Workflow Managment and Applications in Grid Environments
Many complex grid applications often require the creation of a collaborative workflow management system as part of their sophisticated problem solving processes so that e-scientists and business people who lack the low-level expertise can still utilize the current generation of grid toolkits, such as GT4, Gridbus, SwinGrid, GridĄŻ5000 or other toolkits. As a result, the research and development of workflow management in grid environments become a must and have evoked a high degree of interest internationally. The 1st WaGe and 2nd WaGe were successfully held in Changsha China 2006 and in Urumqi China 2007 respectively. With these, the 3rd WaGe workshop in 2008 continues to provide a forum for researchers, practitioners and developers from the areas of grid, cluster computing, cooperative computing and workflow research to exchange the latest experience and research ideas on workflow support in grid environments. Besides, another important focus of this workshop in 2008 is to explore new workflow management techniques in pervasive computing environments with GPC 2008.
The 2nd International Symposium on Service, Security and its Data management technologies in Ubi-comp
Ubiquitous Computing (Ubi-comp) is emerging rapidly as an exciting new paradigm with user-centric environment to provide computing and communication services at any time and anywhere. In order to realize their advantages, it requires integrating security, services and data management to be suitable for Ubi-comp.
The 2nd International Symposium on Service, Security and its Data management technologies in Ubi-comp (SSDU-08) is intended to foster the dissemination of state-of-the-art research in the area of security and intelligence integrating into Ubi-com and data management technology. Also, it offers an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to discuss the latest issues and progress in the area of security, service and data management technologies in Ubi-comp.
The Fourth International Workshop on M-Commerce and Services (WMCS2008) is a forum to bring together business people, researchers, and professionals to discuss innovative ideas and solutions on mobile-commerce and services. Using this forum, researchers and practitioners can exchange issues and challenges, business models and structures, technologies and solutions. WMCS08 will be held in conjunction with GPC-2008 at Kunming, China, May 25-28, 2008. Authors are invited to submit original papers to address solutions and technologies in M-Commerce and services. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Accepted paper will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press (EI-Index) as the workshop processing of GPC-2008.
1st International Workshop on Pervasive Computing and its Application in Education
The focus of this workshop will be advanced learning technologies and the associated underlying pedagogies which support Computer Supported Cooperative Learning, Mobile Learning and Assistant Learning among men and women, the elder and the young, the wise and the dumpish, the normal and the disabled, etc. It is expected that the workshop will bring together researchers from the academia and the industry in order to address fundamentals and new technologies of pervasive systems and applications related to education. Main view point of this workshop is interdisciplinary research on database, sensor, network, and other technology enhanced pervasive learning science and applications.
The 2008 International Symposium on Advances in Grid and Pervasive Systems
The merge of grid infrastructure and pervasive systems presents a promising trend to distributed and Internet computing. The first International Symposium on Advances in Grid and Pervasive Systems (AGPS'08) is a forum to bring together business people, researchers, and professionals to discuss the advances on Grid and pervasive systems. Based on this forum, researchers can exchange new technologies and new solutions. AGPS'08 will be held in conjunction with GPC-2008 at Kunming, China, May 25-28, 2008. Invited papers will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press as the workshop processing of GPC-2008.
