Workshop

Building Intelligent Sensor Networks (BISON'04)

This workshop aims to examine the state of the art in the design and development of smart sensor systems, focusing on sensing technologies as well as computing technologies. The underlying theme of the workshop is in building intelligent sensor nodes that are easy to use and are cost efficient. The topics of interest range from advanced sensing material to data acquisition, communication, and modeling techniques.

Multimedia Modeling and the Security in the Next Generation Network Information Systems

The global growth of interest in the Internet and in high-quality audio, video conferencing and VOD, coupled with a growing high-bandwidth structure, will lead to a rapidly expanding market for multimedia services. Although there are currently no applications with great mass-market that require broadband network access, the popularity of multimedia services should eventually affect the market for wireless multimedia communications. For this reason, wire/wireless-based network technologies, such as  multimedia synchronization technologies, QoS assurance technologies, mobile IP-based multimedia technologies, All-IP network technologies, intelligent transport systems, and the network security, need to be studied and developed for future services offered to subscriber in future fourth generation network information systems.
