The goal of IFIP International Conference on Network and Parallel Computing (NPC 2005) is  to  establish  an  international  forum  for engineers  and  scientists  to  present  their  excellent  ideas  and experiences in all system fields of network and parallel computing.

   NPC 2005 hosted by Institute of Computing Technology, CAS and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, will be held from November 30 to December 3, 2005 in Beijing, which is the capital of the People's Republic of China. Beijing famous for "Capital of a thousand years" is an ancient city with a long history. Back in 3000 years ago in Zhou dynasty, Beijing, which was called Ji at that moment, had been named capital of Yan. Thereafter, many dynasties all made Beijing as capital. The long history leaves Beijing precious cultural treasures including Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Tiantan, Tian'anmen Square etc. Four of them have been accepted as world cultural heritages by UNESCO. As Beijing has been confirmed home city of Olympics 2008, the spirit of "Green Olympics, Scientific Olympics and Humanity Olympics" will surely bring more and more changes to Beijing.
