WORKSHOP OVERVIEW |
|
Ubiquitous Computing (Ubi-comp) is emerging rapidly as an exciting new paradigm with user-centric environment to provide computing and communication services at any time and anywhere. In order to realize their advantages, it requires integrating security, services and data management to be suitable for Ubi-com. However, there are still many problems and major challenges awaiting for us to solve such as the security risks in ubiquitous resource sharing, which could be occurred when data resources are connected and accessed by anyone in Ubi-com. Therefore, it will be needed to explore more secure and intelligent mechanism in Ubi-com.
SSDU-08 is a successor of the 1st International Workshop on Service, Security and its Data management for Ubiquitous Computing (SSDU-07), which was in conjunction
with the 11th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining
(PAKDD 2007), held in Nanjing, China, May 22-25, 2007.
SSDU-08 is intended to foster the dissemination of state-of-the-art research in the area of security and intelligence integrating into Ubi-com and data management technology. Also, it offers an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to discuss the latest issues and progress in the area of security, service and data management technologies in Ubi-com.
SSDU-07 received 124 submissions, representing more than 10 countries and regions, not only from Asia and the Pacific, but also from Europe, and North and South America.
In SSDU-08, we plan to publish high quality papers, which cover the various security, service, and data management issues in Ubi-com. |
|

PAPER SUBMISSION |
|
SSDU-08 invites authors
to submit original and unpublished work. Please submit
paper with 10~12 pages in IEEE Computer Society Style format. Paper
submission should be electronic in only PDF format. For further information regarding paper submission
and the others, please
contact at Program Chair.
See Information for Authors of IEEE Computer Society Press for formatting information. Submissions must not exceed 12 pages, including tables and figures,
with only PDF. Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted,
at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the
symposium. |
|
PROCEEDINGS |
|
The workshop
proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society after the symposium is finished. A selection of the best SSDU'08 papers will be published in a special issue of International Journal of Communication Systems (SCIE). |
