Biographical Sketch:
Xiaofei Liao is currently an associate professor in the school of computer at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He was awarded the PhD degree in Computing Science from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. The supervisor is Prof. Hai Jin. He conducts research in the general areas of desktop and system virtualization technology, P2P computing, multimedia streaming. His current research focuses on the following topics:
1. Desktop virtualization and I/O, memory virtualization (Supported by 973 project and 2009 NSFC project)
2. P2P platform for multiple applications (Supported by 2008 NSFC project)
3. P2P streaming services (Supported by 2007 RGC-NSFC joint project)
His research results have been accepted for publication in the
well-established journals including IEEE Transactions on Parallel and
Distributed Systems, ACM Transactions on Internet Technology,
ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications,
Cluster Computing, Computer Communications, Computer
Networks, Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience,
Computing and Informatics, Journal of Systems Architecture,
and in the reputable conferences such as IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICPP, IEEE ICME,
IEEE HPDC, IEEE CLUSTER, IEEE ICC, etc.
Dr. Liao serves as an peer reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and
Distributed Systems, Multimedia Tools and Applications, IEEE Transactions on
Computer. He is the Program Chair of The 11th International Conference on
Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies (PDCAT),
the 7th IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing
with Applications (IEEE ISPA 2009) and the Japan-China Joint Workshop on
Frontier of Computer Science and Technology (FCST 2008). He served on
program committees of about 20 professional conferences/workshops. He is a
member of the IEEE Computer Society.
